Indian Institute of Geomagnetism is a premier scientific research institute, having strong research programmes in different areas related to Geomagnetism viz. Observatory and Data Analysis, Upper Atmospheric Sciences and Solid Earth Geomagnetism. Applications are invited for the following vacancies :

• Associate Professor : 1 Post (UR), Location : Headquarters or Dr. K.S.Krishnan Geomagnetic Research Laboratory, Allahabad, Pay Band and Grade Pay : Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 7600/-, Eduacational Qualifications : A First class Master’s degree in Physics/Geophysics or Maths (applied) with atleast 10 years work experience in Geomagnetism and allied fields including instrumentation and computers, Maximum Age : : 45 years

• Technical Officer I : 1 post ( reserved for OBC, Location : Headquarters, Navi Mumbai or Magnetic Observatory, Alibag, Maharashtra, Pay Band and Grade Pay : Rs. 9300-34800 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 4600/-, Eduacational Qualifications : (i) First or high second class M.Sc. degree in Physics/ Maths / Geophysics / Electronics or B.E. (Electronics), (ii) 2 years experience of working in the relevant field in a reputed Research Laboratory / Institute/ University, Maximum Age : 33 years with relaxation

How to Apply : The candidates may apply on the form downloadable at www.iigm.res.in. The prescribed application form can also be obtained from the office of the Registrar by paying an application fee of Rs. 100/- by crossed demand draft in favour of Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, New Panvel either in person between 10.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. on working days (Monday to Friday) OR it can be obtained by post by sending an application along with the application fees and a self-addressed stamped envelope of Rs.10/- superscribing “Request for Application Form”. For SC / ST candidates, application form will be issued free of cost on production of valid caste certificate.

Application fee : Rs. 100/- by crossed demand draft.

Last date : Filled in applications should reach the Registrar at the above address on or before 04-02-2011.
